Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii demo launches this week

Get ready! The game “Like a Dragon: Pirates and Yakuza in Hawaii” is nearly upon us. To further stir up excitement, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio plans to release a demo on Friday, offering players an opportunity to experience a taste of the game ahead of its official launch.

At its State of Play event held on February 12, 2025, Sony announced that a demo for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii would be accessible to players starting from Friday. This demo offers a sneak peek into the full game, allowing players to test out two battle styles and engage in pirate ship battles within an arena combat setting.

The Like a Dragon series has achieved immense success, and it appears that Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is set to continue this trend. In his review, TJ Denzer highlighted the intricate ship battle systems. He particularly emphasized the captain battles, where you confront other captains and their fleets in Madlantis to advance in rank. “The standout feature,” TJ penned, “was the captain battles where you go head-to-head against other captains and their ships to climb the ranks.” Additionally, there are encounters with distinct fleets that will test your skills to survive and emerge victorious amidst progressively tougher odds. Most of our time was spent adjusting the position of our pirate ship to ensure our best weapons were aimed at the enemy ships from the starboard, front, or port sides, enabling us to engage in battles on deck.

On February 21, 2025, “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii” is set to be released, but fans can get an early taste this coming Friday, February 14, 2025.
