Lies of P director teases new music & art from its upcoming DLC

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Lies of P has been one of the most captivating additions to my gaming library in recent years. The intricate blend of steampunk aesthetics and the timeless tale of Pinocchio was a masterstroke that instantly resonated with me. So, when I heard about the upcoming DLC, I couldn’t help but feel a chill of anticipation run down my spine.

A year has passed since Neowiz released Lies of P, an exceptional steampunk soulsborne game that’s highly acclaimed within its genre. Now, we’ve got a sneak peek into the game’s future, as shared by the director himself. It seems the upcoming DLC will take us on exciting new journeys along a snow-covered coastline.

This week, the game director Jiwon Choi of Lies of P revealed some sneak peeks into the future content of Lies of P through a special post. Although the DLC for Lies of P is not imminent, we received a snapshot and a piece of music from this upcoming material. The tune is lovely, but the picture tells quite an intriguing tale. It seems that our character, named P (essentially Pinocchio), stands in a chilly outpost, gazing upward at a rocky hill crowned with a mysterious light tower. This light tower emanates a spooky aura, and it appears we’ll be attempting to reach it in the game.

In 2023, the game titled “Lies of P” was released this week. It presents a Victorian steampunk twist on the classic Pinocchio story, with the title character and his companions living in a world where robots are extensively used for various tasks. However, things go awry when these robots rise against humanity, transforming the city of Krat into a gruesome battlefield. This game was praised by Shacknews for its innovative application of the soulsborne formula, offering a versatile weapon system and an array of enhancements that boost P’s combat skills. As a result, it received a favorable review.

It’s astonishing how quickly a year has passed since Lies of P left us in awe, but we can’t wait to find out what Neowiz has up its sleeve next! While we eagerly anticipate updates on DLC and the sequel, keep an eye on this space for further Lies of P-related news.
