The Mongoose, a new action movie starring Liam Neeson, has added Marisa Tomei to the cast.

The film “The Mongoose” is directed by Mark Vanselow, who often serves as Liam Neeson’s stunt performer across various films.

By the set deadline, it’s been confirmed that Tomei (from Spider-Man: No Way Home), Ving Rhames (last seen in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning), and Michael Chiklis (known for his role in Fantastic Four) have all joined the cast.

What else do we know about The Mongoose?

In the movie titled “The Mongoose,” which Deadline referred to as just “Mongoose” in May 2024, it’s not entirely clear if “The” is part of the title. Liam Neeson plays Ryan “Fang” Flanagan, a war veteran who is falsely accused of a crime and, having nothing left to lose, orchestrates an exhilarating nationwide car chase that’s broadcast on television.

As a gamer, I’ll step into the shoes of Fang’s ex-wife, portrayed by Tomei, while Rhames brings his character to life as Tanker – Fang’s trusted right-hand man who was second-in-command in Fang’s Special Forces unit when we were both captured in Afghanistan. In this narrative, Chilis takes on the role of Pope, a Texas Highway Patrol chief with a firm belief that my character’s husband, Fang, is guilty of something.

As a passionate fan, I’d like to share that this incredible script is the work of Thompson Evans. The dedicated team of producers, led by Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt, and Eugene Musso, have brought this project to life. Furthermore, Jonathan Dana, Rich Freeman, Steven Shapiro, Liz Whitney, Ken Whitney, Lisa Wilson, and Craig Chapman serve as executive producers, contributing significantly to its creation.

As I type this, I’m right in the heart of Victoria, Australia, where the movie I’m involved with is being filmed. This project is a joint effort between Code Entertainment and Jupiter Peak Productions – two powerhouses that are making sure everything runs smoothly on set!

Liam Neeson’s latest movie released in 2024 was called Absolution, and it was directed by Hans Petter Moland. He will next appear as the main actor in the new Naked Gun film, sharing the screen with Pamela Anderson. This upcoming production is set to premiere this August from Paramount Pictures.
