Following recurring short stints on the program, the experienced actor, along with long-time cast member Donald Glover, appeared to leave the show together in a 2014 episode named “Geothermal Escapism.” In this episode, they embarked on a global journey aboard Pierce’s ship, known as the Childish Tycoon.
Furthermore, the show later depicted a hijacking of the ship with a news ticker stating “BREAKING NEWS: LeVar Burton and his non-celebrity companion seized by pirates in the Gulf of Mexico” during its Season 5 finale. This versatile artist then mentioned that the fate of his character requires resolution. “That was the last we heard from them,” he said. “They’re on the Childish, as are the pirates.” He also hinted at a possible update.
As I write this, the eagerly anticipated project still doesn’t have a set launch date. Previously, actor Joel McHale admitted to pushing back the movie’s filming schedule.
