Less Is More? Starfield's First Expansion to Be Set Entirely on Just One Planet

“As a seasoned space adventurer with countless light-years under my belt, I must confess that the upcoming expansion for Starfield, “Shattered Space,” has piqued my interest. The mysterious, cultish vibe of Va’ruun’kai and its post-gravity-experiment chaos seems to promise an intriguing narrative journey that harks back to the eerie atmosphere of Dead Space.

On September 30, 2024, the game titled “Shattered Space” is scheduled for release at a price of $30. However, one might wonder if it’s worth the investment.

It’s Getting Creepy On Va’ruun’kai

The narrative unfolds within the meticulously crafted world of the enigmatic House of Va’ruun, known as Va’ruun’kai. Here, both the main and supporting tales delve deeper into the culture of the Va’ruuns, but they are set exclusively on this singular planet.

We can let the world and do other missions, but for the new content, we have to go back.

The character is due to explore the damaged planet some weeks following an unfortunate incident involving a gravitational test, which left the planet scarred with craters and experiencing unpredictable gravitational aberrations accompanied by floating debris.

If you were expecting a more grounded depiction, you may find yourself feeling let down. From what the trailer suggests, this world seems to lean towards mystery rather than reality, carrying an air of religious cult-like elements.

The overall impression of “Shattered Space” is that it carries a chilling resemblance to “Dead Space,” unlike anything we’ve experienced in Starfield thus far. Here’s hoping the substance is robust enough to draw players back to what, admittedly, was quite a letdown initially.

Do you think this is enough for a new expansion, or were you hoping for more?
