Less Is More? Starfield's First Expansion to Be Set Entirely on Just One Planet

“As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I’ve seen expansions come and go, some leaving lasting impacts while others fizzle out like a dying star. The upcoming ‘Shattered Space’ expansion for Starfield, set to release on September 30, 2024, seems to be leaning more towards the latter.

“Shattered Space” will be released September, 30 2024 for $30. But do we get enough for our money?

It’s Getting Creepy On Va’ruun’kai

The narrative unfolds within the intricately crafted planet, the Va’ruun’s enigmatic homeland known as Va’ruun’kai. Here, both the primary and subsidiary tales shall delve deeper into the Va’ruuns’ culture, with events exclusively occurring on this particular celestial body.

We can let the world and do other missions, but for the new content, we have to go back.

The character is due to arrive at the planet several weeks following an unfortunate mishap with a gravity test, which left the planet scarred with craters and abnormal gravitational zones, causing loose rocks to float in mid-air.

If you were expecting a more down-to-earth portrayal, you may find yourself underwhelmed. From what the trailer suggests, the atmosphere of this planet appears to be shrouded in mystery, leaning towards a religious cult-like theme.

In essence, “Shattered Space” appears to be eerier than any previous scenes in Starfield, reminiscent of the chilling atmosphere found in Dead Space. Here’s hoping the content is robust enough to draw players back to what was, admittedly, a rather underwhelming game initially.

Do you think this is enough for a new expansion, or were you hoping for more?
