The Kannada film world is grieving over the death of the iconic actress B Saroja Devi, who sadly passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 87. She had been dealing with health problems related to old age and ultimately succumbed to them in her residence in Bengaluru.

Expressing her heartfelt sorrow on social media platform X, Khushbu Sundar affectionately addressed the late actress B Saroja Devi as ‘Saroja amma’ and reminisced about their warm relationship, having shared a close bond with the esteemed senior performer.
The golden age of cinema is now over. #SarojaDevi amma was an exceptional actress, unmatched by any other female actor in the south. She had a sweet and endearing spirit that I admired greatly. We shared a wonderful relationship, and my visits to Bengaluru felt incomplete without meeting her. Whenever I was in Chennai, she would reach out to me. I will deeply miss her. May she rest in peace, Amma. Om Shanti.

Saroja was awarded the Padma Sri in 1969, and later in 1992, she received the Padma Bhushan award.
