Legacyte Harvest mission guide – Warframe

In the latest Warframe update, dubbed Warframe: 1999, a novel mission titled Legacyte Hunt was introduced. This endless mission offers players the chance to seek out and annihilate formidable foes known as Legacytes, which belong to the Techrot species. The setting for these missions is the labyrinthine network of subterranean halls and wrecked stores beneath Hollvania’s streets.

Legacyte Harvest mission guide

In the Legacyte Harvest missions, you assist Kalymos in locating the elusive Legacyte. Once found, it’s crucial to reach its whereabouts swiftly. After finding it, you neutralize the Legacyte and absorb it, much like a capture. This process reactivates Kalymos, enabling him to discover a new Legactye. Each successful capture marks the close of a cycle, and rewards are distributed.

Initially, you’ll encounter Kalymos at the entrance to the underground area. Interacting with them will transform them into a tiny energy orb that leaves an easily traceable trail. This orb will journey to another location and then revert back to its Kavat form. Your task is to follow them to their destination and get ready to protect them once you arrive.

Enemies known as Techrots will start appearing, and they can be hurt by either Magnetic or Gas attacks, but are resistant to Cold damage. You’ll need to protect Kalymos for a full 100 seconds while a bar above their heads gradually fills up. When these enemies die, they may drop items called Pheroglands that will decrease the time remaining. In my playthroughs, around five of these items have usually been sufficient to complete this section quickly, significantly shortening the wait time. If you’re fortunate with the drops, you might finish this part in just 25-30 seconds.

Subsequently, the Legacyte emerges and is indicated by a red marker on your screen. Navigate towards this spot, as you’ll have to defeat it. When it reaches half health, it may try to flee using an Umbilix – identical to the Esophage used for traversal in Deimos. Destroy this to halt its escape and prevent failure. If it manages to break free, the mission will be deemed failed, forcing you to extract immediately.

In each new generation of Legacytes, a specific strain of Techrot evolves, granting them a new ability upon spawning. Initially, all Legacytes possess the Snow Globe ability, but they can also acquire abilities such as Aquablades, Blood Altar, or Molt. To effectively combat these creatures, it’s advisable to engage from a distance. For an effective strategy against Legacytes, consider modifying your Laetum build: replace Pistol Pestilence with Frostbite to switch the damage type from Corrosive to Magnetic.

Tips for Legacyte Harvest

As Techrot foes approach Kalymos excessively, it disables their capacity to find Legacyte. To maximize efficiency, initiate the process by allowing some time for accumulation before delivering a powerful area-effect attack or ability. This move will generate Pheroglands near Kalymos, thereby reducing travel duration.

Note: The Pheroglands won’t appear on your radar for loot, so you’ll need to search the surroundings carefully to locate them.

It appears that many individuals fail to take advantage of the Pheroglands during their farming missions, which is a significant oversight. Utilizing these items can boost the efficiency of this mission type to an impressive tenfold, so remember to make full use of them. Also, keep in mind that an Arcane cache should materialize within each mission. Be sure to collect it, as it will offer additional valuable loot with each playthrough.
