Red Redemption 2 remaster “exists” with anniversary imminent

Red Dead Redemption 2 is turning seven years old on October 26th. That’s when it was originally released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2018. PC players got the game a year later, on November 5th, 2019. Fans are hoping that Grand Theft Auto 6 will come to PC just as quickly after its console release.

While we haven’t received any updates on the GTA 4 rumors, a trustworthy source named NateTheHate continues to claim that a current-gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 is in development and will also be available on the upcoming Switch 2.

Although Rockstar hasn’t officially said anything, NateTheHate confirmed on October 6th that updates for Red Dead Redemption 2 on the Switch 2 or next-generation consoles are indeed in development. He responded to a question about their existence with a simple, “Yes, they exist.”

What’s particularly interesting is NateTheHate’s strong belief, as they’ve correctly predicted surprise releases before, like the Oblivion remaster and the PS5 version of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

NateTheHate, the source of this leak, hasn’t given any specific release date for the Red Dead Redemption 2 remaster, consistently stating they don’t know when it will be released. While October 26th marks the game’s seventh anniversary, it’s an unlikely release day this year since it falls on a Sunday. A release sometime during the week of October 26th is possible, but it’s just a guess.
