League of Legends: Riot Phreak Wants To Turn Aphelios Into Traditional ADC

As a dedicated League of Legends player with years of experience under my belt, I’ve grown quite fond of Aphelios, the chameleon marksman. His unique playstyle and intricate mechanics have kept me engaged for hours on end. However, recent news about Riot Games considering changes to Aphelios has left me feeling uneasy.

Mastering Aphelios in the bot lane is no easy task due to his unique guns. To deal the greatest damage, you must effectively switch between them and discover the optimal combinations. However, it appears that Riot intends to simplify Aphelios’s playstyle and make him more conventional.

I was excited to hear Riot Phreak’s proposed adjustments for my favorite champion, but unfortunately, the community isn’t on board with his suggestions. I hope Riot Games will take our concerns into consideration and reconsider their plans.

League of Legends: Will Aphelios Be Changed Before Worlds 2024?

As a dedicated fan of League of Legends, I can’t help but be in awe of the one-of-a-kind champion that is Aphelios. For years, a small yet passionate community has taken it upon themselves to master this champion’s intricacies. With recent item modifications and tweaks to lethality, Aphelios has transformed from a conventional auto-attacking marksman in the bot lane to a burst champion whose gameplay revolves around meticulously timing his devastating combos.

Currently, Riot Phreak has expressed his intention to transform Aphelios into a more conventional bot lane champion, relying on automated attacks for most of his damage output, rather than primarily utilizing his ability’s powerful bursts.

We actually aren’t huge fans of the fact that Aphelios is kind of a caster right now. His primary build is E max second and rush Collector[…], and we’d really rather he be more of an auto-attacker and less of a 5,000 range burst mage weirdly.

As a dedicated gamer of League of Legends (LoL), I’ve noticed some adjustments made to Aphelios in patch 14.14. However, these changes don’t seem substantial enough to significantly alter the essence of the champion. Riot Phreak has mentioned that more impactful updates are planned for either patch 14.15 or 14.16.

Aphelios Mains Unhappy With Decision

On the main League of Legends subreddit, some players argue that Aphelios could be made more entertaining if he functioned as an auto-attacker. In contrast, members of the Aphelios-specific subreddit strongly oppose any changes to his identity. They believe that the champion’s current unique mechanics make him more enjoyable to play.

As a gamer, I’ve noticed some fellow players suggesting that Aphelios doesn’t need major changes, but rather should receive attack speed buffs instead. His animations are quite lengthy, making it less appealing for players to build him with auto-attacks in mind. To keep everyone satisfied, Riot could consider enhancing potential attack speed builds for Aphelios, rather than drastically nerfing the “max E build.”

If there are changes made to Aphelios will these be able to improve the champion’s win rate?
