League of Legends: Riot Phreak Wants To Turn Aphelios Into Traditional ADC

As a long-time League of Legends player and a devoted Aphelios main, I’ve spent countless hours mastering the intricacies of this complex champion. His unique mechanic of swapping between weapons has always set him apart from other bot lane champions, offering both excitement and challenge.

Mastering Aphelios at the bot lane is no easy task due to his various guns. Understanding when to switch between them is crucial for dealing maximum damage. However, it appears that Riot intends to simplify the champion, making him more aligned with traditional champions.

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been following Riot Phreak’s ideas for champion adjustments closely. However, when I heard his proposed changes, I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. The gaming community seems to share my sentiments, and we’re hopeful that Riot Games will reconsider before implementing these modifications.

League of Legends: Will Aphelios Be Changed Before Worlds 2024?

In League of Legends, Aphelios is a distinct champion that has captivated a small but dedicated group of players for several years. Due to certain item modifications and lethality updates, his role has evolved from being a standard auto-attacking marksman in the bot lane to a burst character whose gameplay revolves around coordinating his combos.

Currently, Riot Phreak has expressed his intention to transform Aphelios from a champion who primarily relies on ability power for damage to a more conventional bot lane character, focusing more on auto-attacks.

We actually aren’t huge fans of the fact that Aphelios is kind of a caster right now. His primary build is E max second and rush Collector[…], and we’d really rather he be more of an auto-attacker and less of a 5,000 range burst mage weirdly.

In League of Legends patch 14.14, Aphelios underwent some adjustments, but these modifications are not expected to significantly alter the essence of his champion identity. Riot Phreak intends to implement more substantial changes in either patch 14.15 or 14.16 instead.

Aphelios Mains Unhappy With Decision

As a passionate fan of Aphelios, I’ve noticed some buzz in the League of Legends community suggesting that he could be made more exciting as an auto-attacker champion. However, delving deeper into the Aphelios subreddit, I’ve come across numerous fans who strongly oppose any changes to his identity. For them, Aphelios is already a unique and engaging champion, offering a level of complexity and versatility that sets him apart from other champions in the game.

Several players have recommended that Aphelios should receive improved attack speed rather than undergoing significant changes, as certain of his animations are quite lengthy. Consequently, many players do not construct builds centered around auto-attacks for him. To strike a balance and appease everyone, Riot Games could enhance the effectiveness of attack speed builds for Aphelios instead of drastically altering or weakening the “max E build.”

If there are changes made to Aphelios will these be able to improve the champion’s win rate?
