In the current plotline of Law & Order: Organized Crime, it seems that character Jet Slootmaekers, portrayed by Ainsley Seiger, might be departing from the show. Joining in Season 1, Jet is a former hacker and detective of NYPD who’s been involved in some intense cases, most recently one that was particularly traumatic. Recently, she declined an offer for a full-time position with the FBI and bid her colleagues goodbye, hinting at a new direction. Now, fans are left wondering whether Jet has permanently exited the series or if there’s still a chance she might reappear.
Here are all the details.
Is Ainsley Seiger’s Jet leaving Law & Order: Organized Crime and why?
In the series Law & Order: Organized Crime, the character played by Sieger is no longer part of the team. It’s undecided if the actress will permanently leave the show or make appearances in upcoming episodes. As of now, Sieger has not commented on her departure from the show.
In the second episode of Season 5, Jet underwent a harrowing ordeal when she and Stabler pursued a ruthless trucker who murdered sex workers. This pursuit ended with her being assaulted and left shaken. Since then, she’s taken some time off work but hasn’t come back yet. It’s known that Jet and Reyes have split up, but he remains concerned about her wellbeing.
Concerned for Jet’s welfare, Bell decides to visit her apartment to make sure she’s alright. Upon arrival, he finds Jet deeply engrossed in the investigation of the missing women and murder cases. In an attempt to comfort her, Bell encourages Jet to embrace a fresh opportunity in her career and assures her that she has the freedom to choose her own path. Additionally, Bell declines a permanent hacker position that was proposed by the FBI.
In the end, she stops by the office and gathers her belongings. Upon seeing her, Stabler expresses his joy at her return and shares that he had missed her dearly. They embrace before moving on to meet with the rest of the team for drinks. It seems Jet has decided to leave her post behind in search of new experiences. The abruptness of her departure leaves us guessing about her future on the show. However, since she hasn’t officially said goodbye, there’s a chance we might see her again in upcoming episodes.
