Latest CS2 update makes ragdolls fly around the map

After the latest game update, I’ve noticed that when I score a kill, the bodies of defeated opponents go flying randomly around the map, creating a wild and frequently amusing scene in the heat of battle.

Ragdolls seem a bit broken after the new CS2 Update

The patch notes mostly focused on modest improvements:

  • [MAPS] adjustments to clipping on Inferno’s stairs under the balcony.
  • [MISC] fixes for model offsets, sticker placements, and grenade interactions with ragdolls.

The single message “Fixed a regression in grenade interactions with ragdolls” could have inadvertently led to the bizarre ragdoll actions. Although it doesn’t impact live players directly, the sight of motionless figures flying erratically across the map has been entertaining yet disconcerting, particularly for seasoned players who prefer a more realistic gameplay experience. Some have criticized these floating corpses as they can sometimes obstruct vision, particularly during intense battles.

Beyond the chaos surrounding the ragdoll incident, the gaming community is also irked by another separate problem. Users have reported a noticeable lag when they try to examine their weapons right after switching them. Although this delay may seem minor, it significantly hinders the smoothness of gameplay and has drawn criticism from players who believe Valve is overlooking essential quality-of-life enhancements.

Two issues have emerged following the latest CS2 update:

1. It is temporarily impossible to examine a weapon immediately after swapping it out.
2. Characters exhibit unusual, humorous physical reactions (goofy ragdolls).

In spite of the unexpected jumps that resemble ragdolls and delays in troubleshooting causing some complaints, members of the CS2 community have taken these issues in stride with humor. As a result, videos of people flying through the air have become popular online, leading to discussions about whether this problem should be kept for its amusing aspect or quickly fixed.

Valve has not yet addressed the ragdoll glitch, however, considering the update’s purpose to tackle minor issues, players are hopeful for a resolution in the near future. For now, Counter-Strike 2 servers continue to serve as a battleground not just for skill, but also for airborne laughter.
