Last of Us Part 2’s PC system requirements sound like another Steam Deck success

The system specifications for The Last of Us Part 2 on PC, a highly anticipated release from PlayStation, have been disclosed. Following the rocky launch of the first game’s remake on PC, Naughty Dog and PlayStation have assured gamers that the game will run smoothly not only on powerful desktop computers but also on the portable Steam Deck by Valve.

On the portable device that’s been touted as a powerhouse, the PS5 version of the initial game faces some challenges. However, PlayStation is optimistic that the PC port of the PS4 sequel will excel. Equipped with a variety of graphic settings designed to ensure smooth performance on most personal computers, it should run smoothly.

The new PlayStation port promises an exceptional experience on a variety of hardware, from top-tier PCs to portable gaming devices. With games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows also adapting to Valve’s handheld platform, it seems that the handheld device is still thriving with plenty of years ahead.

Given the impressive performance of Steam Deck leading Valve to focus more on “hardware advancements” within their company, it’s clear that a more potent device is being planned. However, instead of frequent updates, they are anticipating a significant technological leap before launching new hardware versions. Rest assured, an authentic upgrade for the system is under development at Valve – here’s hoping they can successfully complete this project in three stages!

Currently, The Last of Us Part 2 serves as the final installment in the series for now. Although Naughty Dog is now focusing on their new project, Intergalactic, there are whispers of a potential third game that might shift focus away from Ellie to introduce a completely fresh narrative.
