Upcoming on our screens is the DCU series titled “Lanterns,” produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television. This show is jointly penned by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King. In this production, Kyle Chandler takes on the role of Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre steps into John Stewart’s shoes. Additionally, Kelly Macdonald will bring a sheriff character named Kerry to life in the series.

Who is Jason Ritter playing in Lanterns?

As I, a gaming enthusiast, dive into the latest scoop from Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, it turns out that Ritter will be playing the role of my character’s spouse. At the moment, more details about this are being kept under lock and key. However, it’s worth mentioning that when Macdonald was cast, The Hollywood Reporter depicted Sheriff Kerry as a tough-as-nails woman with an unwavering commitment to her family and the close-knit community she serves.

In 2012, Ritter received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor, recognizing his performance as Mark Cyr on Parenthood. His acting career also includes roles in shows like Joan of Arcadia, The Event, Gravity Falls, Girls, Ken (Probably Saves the World), and Raising Dion, plus several other projects.

Additionally, his list of movies spans from Freddy vs. Jason in 2003, W. in 2008, The Perfect Family in 2011, The Meddler in 2015, Frozen II in 2019, and several others as well.

In the series titled ‘Lanterns’, we follow John Stewart, a fresh recruit, and Hal Jordan, a seasoned Lantern veteran, who are space police officers. They become entangled in a sinister Earth-bound case when they’re tasked with solving a murder that has occurred in the heart of America.

Beyond the previously mentioned actors, Lanterns features Garret Dillahunt playing a contemporary cowboy named William Macon, Poorna Jagannathan portraying Zoe, Nicole Ari Parker taking on the role of John Stewart’s mother, and Ulrich Thomsen as the antagonist Sinsetro. The first two episodes of the series are directed by James Hawese, who is also a executive producer, alongside Lindelof, King, and Mundy.

The exact release date for the upcoming series “Lanterns” on HBO hasn’t been revealed yet, but we can expect it to debut sometime in 2026.
