Jason Ritter recently provided an update on the filming progress for HBO’s series “Lanterns,” mentioning the number of episodes already completed. Although he didn’t disclose much about the plot, there’s ongoing online discussion regarding his character possibly being connected to a significant DC villain. A fresh theory proposes that his part could be instrumental in unveiling the Black Hand’s origin.
Jason Ritter discloses that Lanterns is being filmed ‘a little out of order’
During an interview at SeriesFest in Denver, Jason Ritter disclosed the number of Lanterns episodes that have already been filmed. He stated, “We’ve completed four episodes, and we’re ready to begin filming episodes three and four. We’re working on it somewhat out of sequence. The story is bouncing around a bit, but it’s been incredibly enjoyable, and the show is well-written with a lot of fun elements.” (as reported by Forbes)
As a devoted admirer, I’m thrilled to share that the initial season of Lanterns is set to unveil eight captivating episodes, marking a significant milestone as we’ve reached the halfway point in production. In this gripping tale, Ritter brings to life the character of Billy Macon, a dashing charmer who faithfully carries out his father’s wishes. Leveraging his family’s esteemed reputation, he maintains an inflated sense of pride from his small-town roots and stands to lose everything should his actions falter.
The Gods and Monsters Chapter One lineup from DC Studios includes Lanterns, and according to James Gunn, one of the co-heads, this show focuses on Green Lanterns John Stewart and Hal Jordan. They uncover a chilling mystery that connects to the grand narrative of the DC Universe. Additionally, Gunn characterizes the series’ atmosphere as reminiscent of True Detective.
Kyle Chandler takes on the role of Hal Jordan, while Aaron Pierre stars as John Stewart. Nathan Fillion makes an appearance as Guy Gardner. Some other cast members who have been confirmed include Kelly Macdonald playing Kerry, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe, Ulrich Thomsen as Sinestro, and Garret Dillahunt as William Macon. Nicole Ari Parker and Sherman Augustus will portray John Stewart’s parents in the film.
James Hawes takes the helm for the initial two installments of Lanterns. His background includes work on Doctor Who, Black Mirror, and Slow Horses, which has sparked intrigue among viewers. Some spectators suggest that Jason Ritter’s character, Billy Macon, may be connected to the Black Hand storyline, potentially portraying William Macon Jr., while Garret Dillahunt assumes the role of William Macon Sr. in this series.
