A notable actor from 1883 will be part of the ensemble for the second season of “Landman”. At present, the second season is being filmed in Texas.
The drama series that debuted on Paramount+ in 2024 is a collaborative effort between Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace as co-creators. Furthermore, Sheridan has been responsible for creating several television shows streamed on this platform, such as Mayor of Kingstown starring Jeremy Renner, Tulsa King, and Lioness.
Apart from being the mastermind behind the successful neo-Western drama series Yellowstone and its offshoots, 1883 and 1923, it’s also worth mentioning that Sheridan is responsible for these creations. Now, another actor hailing from the Yellowstone universe will be making an appearance in Sheridan’s upcoming series on Paramount+.
Who’s joining the Landman Season 2 cast?
As reported by Deadline, it’s been announced that Sam Elliott, who was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance as Shea Brennan in 1883, will be a regular cast member in the forthcoming season of Landman. At this time, specific details about Elliott’s role are being withheld.
Elliot is set to team up with some of the cast members from 1883, specifically Billy Bob Thornton and James Jordan. Notably, Billy Bob Thornton portrays Tommy Norris in the series, while James Jordan assumes the role of Dale Bradley.
Besides Thornton, Jordan, Demi Moore (Cami Miller), Ali Larter (Angela Norris), Andy Garcia (Galino), Jacob Lofland (Cooper Norris), Michelle Randolph (Ainsley Norris), Paulina Chávez (Ariana Medina), Kayla Wallace (Rebecca Falcone), Mark Collie (Sheriff Walt Joeberg), and Colm Feore (Nathan), other familiar faces will reappear in the show.
The series ‘Landman’ unfolds in contemporary West Texas oil towns, a story about chasing wealth in the fast-paced oil rig industry. Similar to the popular podcast ‘Boomtown’, this show presents an intricate narrative of both the hardworking laborers and wealthy tycoons, whose actions are driving an oil boom so massive that it’s altering our climate, economy, and geopolitics.
Elliot is recognized for his acting roles across films and TV series. He’s appeared in numerous productions such as Molly and Lawless John, The Legacy, Gettysburg, The Big Lebowski, Fatal Beauty, Mask, Road House, We Were Soldiers, Hulk, Ghost Rider, The Hero, Grandma, I’ll See You in My Dreams, A Star Is Born, and MacGruber, among a multitude of others.
No official release date has been announced yet for Landman Season 2.
