In a recent chat, it’s been shared that Lady Gaga credited her fiancé, Michael Polansky, for inspiring one of the songs on her upcoming album titled Mayhem. The song “Blade of Grass,” which is the 13th track on this new record, is reportedly among those influenced by him. It’s worth noting that Gaga has previously mentioned Polansky’s role in shaping her work, as he was instrumental in convincing her to create pop music last year. The release date for Mayhem is set for March 7, 2025, and the album is expected to contain 14 songs in total. The first single from this upcoming record, “Disease,” was launched in October 2024, while the second track, “Abracadabra,” followed in February 2025.

Lady Gaga reveals fiance, Michael Polansky inspired her song

In a recent chat with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, Lady Gaga delved into the creation of her new album as well as various aspects of her professional and personal journey. She also shared insights about how Michael Polansky impacted the composition of her song titled “Blade of Grass.

In my creative journey as a songwriter, I draw inspiration from life itself, as I shared with Lowe during our Apple Music interview. If the world around me is only about promotion, then I’ll craft songs about that very aspect. But when it comes to those precious moments, like the one where Michael inquired about my dream proposal, those are too meaningful and unique to be overshadowed by promotional talk.

Later on, Gaga elaborated on the unique gesture exchange between herself and Polansky. At their outdoor space, she requested him to pick a blade of grass and loop it around her finger. The actress from House of Gucci commented that she titled it “Blade of Grass” as it reminded her of Polansky’s expression and the grass in their backyard. Additionally, she recollected how her fiancé had to utilize the long grass found in the heart of their backyard for this special moment.

In 2024, just following Gaga’s birthday, Polansky made a proposal. She later confirmed this during her guest spot on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In her interview, Lady Gaga shared an emotional compliment Roman Polansky once gave her, which was, “You are an artist, and it’s your artistry that brings you the most joy. We should cherish and nurture that side of you.” Additionally, she reminisced about a moment when Polansky helped her recognize that other aspects of her life were causing distress and preventing her from fully embracing her artistic passion.
