Foday Dumbuya’s LABRUM is really making waves, and we couldn’t be happier! Following a fun partnership with Guinness on a whimsical furniture line, the British brand is proudly showcasing its West African heritage in collaboration with adidas. The two continue their teamwork for Africa Day in 2024, releasing a special-edition Superstar as part of their joint project.
Commemorated on May 25th, Africa Day acknowledges the vibrant creativity of the African region. This year marks the fifth annual celebration of this event, as adidas and LABRUM collaborate to release the Africa Day Superstar sneaker. Crafted from black aniline leather, the shoe boasts distinctive African motifs. The medial three stripes showcase colors representative of the Pan-African flag, while the toe caps are made of leather with a three-dimensional lining. The Nomoli figure, LABRUM’s signature emblem, is embroidered on the tongue, and the rear heels display contrasting red and green finishes. The collaboration concludes with adidas’ Freizeit outsoles for an elegant, modern aesthetic.
Check out the Adidas x LABRUM Africa Day Superstar collaboration showcased above. You can purchase it at LABRUM stores or online for £120 GBP (around $160 USD). The profits from these sales will be donated to LABRUM’s charity foundation.
