L2 Empuraan: Release of sequel to Mohanlal’s action flick postponed? Prithviraj Sukumaran REACTS to buzz

The film ‘L2: Empuraan,’ featuring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, is highly anticipated as a sequel to the Malayalam action hit, Lucifer. With the first movie’s resounding success, viewers eagerly await what this second installment will offer. However, there have been whispers circulating that the release of the action film might be postponed.

Initially scheduled for a release in theaters on March 27, 2025, the movie titled Empuraan is now facing delays. Recent updates suggest that this is because Lyca Productions, the company responsible for financing the project, is reportedly experiencing financial difficulties.

Some sources have mentioned that Mohanlal’s personal production house, Aashirvad Cinemas, might choose to disassociate from Lyca Productions and independently release the film L2: Empuraan.

Currently, there are numerous unverified rumors circulating. However, Director Prithviraj Sukumaran has quelled these reports with a cryptic yet significant post on his social media platform, which is now X (previously Twitter). He shared a poster of the film showcasing Mohanlal, leaving everyone speechless.

Yet, what truly caught the eye was the witty tagline on the poster. It warned, “At your peak moment, beware! That’s when… THE DEVIL MIGHT TAKE A SWING AT YOU!

Additionally, Prithviraj titled the post with the phrase, “The most effective trick the DEVIL has ever played is making people believe that he isn’t there!

Moving forward with the film “Empuraan” in L2 (Malayalam), it received a UA certificate from the CBFC on March 6th. Following censorship, the running time for this Mohanlal movie was set at 2 hours and 59 minutes.

In essence, it’s reported that the storyline for the sequel drama picks up right where the initial part concluded.

Additionally, the movie will delve into the backstories and journey to power of several key characters, such as our main heroes, Stephen Nedumpally and Zayed Masood.
