Kubera: Nagarjuna, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna starrer faces trouble over film’s title; REPORTS

The highly anticipated film “Kubera,” starring Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dhanush, and Rashmika Mandanna, has sparked great interest among viewers with its posters and initial sneak peeks. However, as per the latest report from 123 Telugu, there seems to be a potential issue with the film’s title that might have caused some difficulties for its makers.

Karimakonda Narender, a Telugu film producer, recently stated that he had previously registered the name ‘Kubera’ for one of his films with the Telugu Film Producers Council back in November 2023.

The producer also mentioned that he’s already started working on the project, and a significant portion of filming is already done.

Karimakonda Narender went so far as to accuse Director Sekhar Kammula of using a copyrighted title, claiming it caused him financial losses. He requested that the director either rename his movie or provide compensation for these damages.

Additionally, he’s asked the Telugu Film Chamber to step in and make sure fairness is upheld regarding his movie’s case, ensuring a just outcome.

Yet, neither Sekhar Kammula nor the Kubera production team have issued any formal comments regarding the issue. As for the film starring Nagarjuna, it’s reported that they wrapped up shooting and are currently engaged in post-production work.

Previously, during an interview with Cinema Vikatan, filmmaker Sekhar Kammula shared that it was his first time working with Dhanush on the film Kubera. He expressed initial uncertainty about sharing the story with Dhanush because he had doubts about whether Dhanush was even familiar with him to begin with.

He expressed that when the tale was prepared, he felt reluctant to share it with Dhanush. He had concerns and questioned whether Dhanush recognized him or not. Nevertheless, upon calling him, Dhanush astonished him by discussing his preferred movies from among those produced by our team.
