Actress Krysten Ritter, famous for her portrayal of Jessica Jones in the Marvel Netflix series, fueled rumors about a potential comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during an interview on CBS Mornings. While promoting her new book, “Retreat,” she showed excitement about the character and subtly suggested that she might reprise her role once more.
When queried regarding joining the MCU, specifically for “Daredevil: Born Again” or her own series, Ritter expressed a mix of eagerness and caution. She shared, “You know, I’m really fond of Jessica Jones, and I think it’s thrilling that there seems to be such enthusiasm about bringing her back.” Ritter also addressed the frequent requests for her return, saying, “I get asked about it almost daily, and honestly, we maintain a cautious optimism. I truly hope I get to be part of it.
Katie Ritter starred as Jessica Jones in her self-titled Marvel series on Netflix for three seasons from 2015 to 2019. During this period, her character appeared alongside other Marvel Netflix characters like Iron Fist, Daredevil, and Luke Cage in The Defenders in 2017. If the chance arises, Ritter has shown eagerness to reprise her role. When asked about it, she said, “Absolutely, if they call me, I’d be ready.” She also hinted that she might still have a souvenir from the original series, saying, “I might or might not have taken a jacket from the set the first time.
Ritter’s remarks surface following the unveiling of “Daredevil: Born Again,” a production that has brought back familiar faces from the Marvel Netflix series, such as Charlie Cox portraying Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio playing Kingpin, Jon Bernthal embodying Frank Castle/The Punisher, and others including Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), Bullseye (Wilson Bethel), among many others.
Although there’s been no confirmation yet about Jessica Jones rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, actress Krysten Ritter’s excitement and the favorable response to other Marvel Netflix characters in recent MCU films hint that it could still be a possibility. If only more viewers were tuning in to catch her new series!
