Universal Pictures has made available the formal trailer for “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie,” an upcoming cinematic take on DreamWorks Animation’s popular Netflix show. This film will debut in theaters on the 26th of September.
In the recently released movie, Gabby embarks on a journey across the country alongside her grandmother Gigi, exploring the bustling metropolis of Cat Francisco. However, when Gabby’s cherished dollhouse is stolen by a peculiar cat lady named Vera, Gabby embarks on a mission in the real world to reunite the Gabby Cats and rescue her beloved toy before it’s gone forever.

In this video, Laila Lockhart Kraner makes her comeback by reprising her lead role from a beloved kids’ show. Alongside her is the talented and Oscar-nominated Kristen Wiig, taking on the role of the film’s primary villain. The upcoming story for Gabby involves facing off against a woman who is excessively fond of cats, as she inexplicably swipes Gabby’s dollhouse.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” is helmed by the talented Ryan Crego (Arlo the Alligator Boy), following the original mixed media preschool series created by Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey. The star-studded cast includes Gloria Estefan, Ego Nwodim, Kyle Mooney, Melissa Villaseñor, Thomas Lennon, Jason Mantzoukas, and Fortune Feimster. Notably, Kraner isn’t the only familiar voice you’ll hear; Pandy Paws, CatRat, Cakey, DJ Catnip, Baby Box, MerCat, and many more will be reprising their roles from the cherished series!
The movie was crafted by Steven Schweickart, a veteran production manager or co-producer, who has contributed to several high-grossing DreamWorks Animation productions such as How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods, and more recently, Kung Fu Panda 4. It is overseen by Twomey and Johnson in an executive capacity.
