Actors Kristen Wiig and Bill Murray will spearhead the upcoming comedy film titled “Epiphany,” with Max Barbakow, known for his work on “Palm Springs,” set to direct it.
This week, Rocket Science is set to debut Epiphany at the European Film Market in Berlin. Not only will Wiig and Murray be featured in the film, but they’ll also take on the roles of executive producers alongside Jillian Apfelbaum and Margot Hand. Mitch Glazer (The Recruit) penned the script for this project.
What is Epiphany about?
In this upcoming project, Wiig is set to portray Favorite Ives, while Murray will play the role of Oz Bell. According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter, the story, titled Epiphany, centers around Favorite’s predicament where her substantial wealth suddenly vanishes, leaving her with just two weeks to secure a wealthy husband and avoid homelessness. As she frantically seeks a wealthy suitor, she crosses paths with eccentric billionaire Oz Bell (Murray). Favorite requires Oz’s fortune, while Oz is drawn to Favorite’s vivacious personality. Will this unconventional pair find something deeper?
In a statement, Barbakow expressed that it’s a special and enjoyable experience when a story transports you through a journey that simultaneously makes you laugh, evokes emotions, and reflects the amusing peculiarities of everyday life. It’s even more delightful when your mentors for this journey are Bill Murray and Kristen Wiig. However, Epiphany goes beyond in offering such a variety of tones, profound insights, and an abundance of cinematic potential, all while preparing iconic roles for the already-iconic, uniquely original duo of Kristen and Billy.
Wiig is primarily recognized for her roles in films such as Adventureland, Extract, Knocked Up, MacGruber, Bridesmaids, The Skeleton Twins, Ghostbusters, The Martian, Wonder Woman 1984, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, and many others.
Instead, it’s worth noting that Murray is particularly recognized for movies such as Ghostbusters (1984), Rushmore, Lost in Translation, Groundhog Day, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, Broken Flowers, The Royal Tenenbaums, and Zombieland, among others.
