Kristen Bell and Adam Brody would 'deliver' spouse cameos in potential Nobody Wants This season 2

As a millennial who grew up binge-watching “Veronica Mars” and “The O.C.”, I can confidently say that “Nobody Wants This” is a must-watch television event for fans like myself in 2024. The romantic comedy series starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody promises to deliver all the heartwarming, humorous, and emotional drama we’ve come to expect from these talented actors.

In 2024, there’s no doubt that the most captivating television event for millennials will be “Nobody Wants This” on Netflix. Starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody, this original romantic comedy series presents an unlikely love story between a podcast host who is agnostic and a handsome rabbi. It’s a compelling exploration of the age-old question: will they or won’t they? With its sharp wit and genuine emotional depth, it promises to be an unmissable rollercoaster of romance.

It’s clear that Kristen Bell and Adam Brody were the leading actors in two of the most beloved teen dramas from the early 2000s. Kristen Bell’s breakout role was in the UPN/CW detective series, Veronica Mars, while Adam Brody found his big break in the humorous teen soap opera, The O.C.. These shows are undeniably timeless for millennials! Plus, Bell also provided the voiceover for The CW’s Gossip Girl.

Talking about Gossip Girl, in actuality, Brody is a real-life husband to Leighton Meester, who was once Blair Waldorf on the show, since 2014. We’re also parents to two wonderful kids. Similarly, Bell has been married to my fellow actor Dax Shepard since 2013, and together we have two adorable offspring as well.

Fans who enjoy power couples may have hoped to see Ed Westwick (Meester) and Leighton Meester or Eric Johnson (Shepard) and Jessica Lowndes on screen in the first season, but unfortunately, their real-life partners did not make an appearance.

In an entertaining chat with Entertainment Today for the show Nobody Wants This, Bell and Brody hinted at the possibility of their skilled partners potentially appearing in a future season of the romantic comedy series. Luckily, it seems quite plausible!

Bell pondered when asked about a possible Season 2 cameo for her husband Dax, “He’s not exactly eager.” She added, “Just make the timing convenient for his schedule.” Adopting a relaxed tone similar to Brody, he seemed to assure, “I can arrange Leighton.” Essentially, it’s a done deal! Bell humorously suggested they could simply inform Dax and Leighton that they’re coming for lunch and start filming a scene. Whatever works!

Indeed, being an avid follower of the Bell-Brody-Meester universe of teen dramas that shaped my teenage years, I had been on the lookout for Meester to appear somewhere in the first season – be it as one of Noah’s former girlfriends, a friend of Joanne’s, or simply any character. With her unique sense of humor, Meester would blend seamlessly with the show’s humorous tone.

When Ryan Hansen and D’Arcy Carden, who are also Kristen Bell’s co-stars from Veronica Mars and The Good Place respectively, made brief appearances, it made me think that Shepard might suddenly show up. However, her real-life podcasting husband has yet to make a surprise appearance in this series.

Lately, Shepard has been shifting his attention away from acting and directing towards his thriving podcast, “Armchair Expert,” which he co-hosts with Monica Padman. In fact, this year he sealed a fresh deal for the podcast with Amazon’s Wondery. Should he appear in the second season of Nobody Wants This, portraying a rival podcast host would be an incredibly humorous role.

Regarding Meester, she has recently been seen in Netflix’s movie titled “The Weekend Away“, survival film “River Wild” alongside Brody, and Freevee’s holiday rom-com “EXmas“. In the future, she is set to appear on The CW’s upcoming procedural dramedy “Good Cop/Bad Cop“, scheduled for 2025 debut. Since Brody previously made a guest appearance in Meester’s now-defunct ABC sitcom “Single Parents“, maybe it’s their turn to reciprocate.

Watch Nobody Wants This only on Netflix.
