Exciting news for all the Spidey fans! I can’t contain my excitement as I share that starting March 13, 2025, I’ll be able to stream “Kraven the Hunter” on Netflix in the United States. This movie, released by Columbia Pictures on December 13, 2024, is a fantastic addition to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. The brilliant Aaron Taylor-Johnson steps into the role of Sergei Kravinoff, better known as Kraven. Can’t wait to see it!
Under the guidance of director J.C. Chandor, this film offers a fresh take on the character Kraven, transforming him from a conventional big-game hunter into a vigilante with animalistic powers. The ensemble cast features Ariana DeBose as Calypso, Fred Hechinger as Chameleon, Alessandro Nivola as Rhino, Christopher Abbott as the Foreigner, and Russell Crowe portraying Nikolai Kravinoff. The narrative revolves around Kraven’s quest for vengeance against his criminal father and encounters with adversaries such as Rhino among others.
The movie was met with harsh criticism from critics, who found issues with its script, special effects, and tempo. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a low approval rating of 16%, while on Metacritic, it scored only 35 out of 100. The audience’s reaction was not very positive either, as it received a “C” rating from CinemaScore.
