Maggie Kang shared her thoughts on KPop Demon Hunters during an in-depth chat with Screen Rant. When asked if she and co-director Chris Appelhans have plans for a sequel, Kang replied, “Absolutely, there’s always room for more. We’ve thought of side stories as we were working on this one, and there are many unanswered questions that could lead to further exploration.
Although Netflix hasn’t confirmed a second installment of KPop Demon Hunters, considering the positive reception it’s had, it looks promising that there might be a sequel. Netflix is currently evaluating the film’s success among their viewers before deciding on anything further.
In the series KPop Demon Hunters, we find Rumi, Mira, and Zoey as members of an all-female K-pop group known as Huntrix. Simultaneously, they serve as demon hunters, sworn to safeguard humanity from malevolent beings. As they uncover the truth that the recently formed boy band Saja Boys consists entirely of demons, they determine it’s their duty to put an end to them. At the same time, Rumi, who carries a part of demonic heritage, finds herself entangled in a complex relationship with Jinu, the leader of Saja Boys.
The vocal talents in the series KPop Demon Hunters are led by Arden Cho portraying Rumi, accompanied by EJAE’s vocals. Ahn Hyo-seop plays Jinu, with songs by Andrew Choi. May Hong takes on the role of Mira, while Audrey Nuna provides the voice for her character. Lastly, Ji-young Yoo is cast as Zoey, backed by Rei Ami’s singing.
Many people who reviewed the film complimented its unique visual approach, captivating plot, and individualistic mood, along with various other aspects. Moreover, the music in the movie generally garnered favorable feedback as well.
