The movie’s plot revolves around Chelladurai, whose world crumbles when his father, Viruman, discovers that his mother, Chitra, has been unfaithful. Heartbroken and abandoned by Chitra, Viruman is left with no choice but to leave Chelladurai and their sister, Sudha, in the care of their grandmother. When she passes away, young Chelladurai takes on a job at a poultry farm to help his sister make ends meet. As time goes by, he transforms into a butcher and tirelessly works towards creating a stable life for both of them.
In this scenario, Sudha develops affection towards Soundar, yet faces resistance from Chelladurai regarding their relationship. Upon investigating Soundar’s family history, Chelladurai eventually consents to the marriage. Simultaneously, Thamarai harbors secret feelings for Chelladurai that he fails to recognize. As preparations are underway for Sudha’s wedding, Chelladurai unexpectedly encounters his mother, who has become a beggar with memory loss. He then decides to admit her into a care facility for the mentally ill.
In the course of events, he encounters his half-sister Maheshwari and finds his father in poor health. Touched by her entreaty, he decides to give one of his kidneys to save Viruman. With Sudha’s persuasion, he ultimately agrees to embrace Thamarai’s affection, which becomes the central theme of the movie.
