The tale of Kousalya Supraja Rama primarily focuses on the life of Rama, who is shaped significantly by his father’s Siddegowda’s harmful masculinity. This influence leads him to adopt chauvinistic attitudes. However, his romantic interest, Shivani, departs from him due to his behavior. Following the demise of his mother, Kousalya, Rama vows to alter himself. He subsequently marries Muthulakshmi, a woman struggling with alcoholism, who was selected by Kousalya herself.

Rama supports Muthulakshmi in overcoming her addiction. He later discovers that her friend Nishan was secretly drugging her drinks. At a party, a drunk Muthulakshmi injures Rama. Siddegowda files a complaint against her, but Rama withdraws it. He also helps his father see his past mistakes. Muthulakshmi reforms, and they start a new life together.
