In the movie “Kottukkaali,” Soori plays the character of Paandi, a man who’s back from living overseas after many years. His plan is to marry Meera, who happens to be his niece and has feelings for someone else, hailing from a less fortunate social class. (Anna Ben portrays Meera in this story.)
Her determination and unwavering desire to be with her partner are seen by her family as if she were bewitched. Consequently, they decide to perform an exorcism on her and take her to their family’s deity and a prophet for assistance.
Throughout their voyage, the family encounters numerous hurdles and intertwining side stories at the same time. Some people cast doubt on Meera’s loyalty, yet she maintains silence during this adventure. Meanwhile, Pandi experiences multiple moments of frustration as well.
For the remainder of the movie, we follow their journey to their destination and discover the fate of Meera. The film’s themes delve into issues such as male dominance, traditional power structures, and superstitions.
