As a seasoned gamer with memories etched deeply into the cobblestone streets of Silent Hill, the mere whisper of a new entry in this hallowed franchise sends chills down my spine. The echoes of Alchemilla Hospital and the twisted laughter of Pyramid Head have long reverberated within the recesses of my mind, a haunting symphony that has yet to find its finale.
It appears from Konami’s latest quarterly financial report that they may have some exciting projects lined up. There are rumors circulating that the gaming giant could be working on a brand-new installment in the Silent Hill series, neither Silent Hill F nor a remake of Silent Hill 2.
As a long-time fan of Silent Hill, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment upon hearing about Konami’s recent focus on eFootball and the Metal Gear Solid revival, with little to no news regarding a new entry in the iconic horror franchise. Having grown up playing Silent Hill 1 and 2, I vividly remember the chilling atmosphere, haunting music, and psychological terror that made those games stand out from their peers. The series has had a significant impact on my love for video games and the horror genre, so seeing it take a backseat to other projects is disheartening. I eagerly await any updates about a potential new Silent Hill game, as I’m sure many others are too.
According to The Gamer’s report, the positive update is that they are developing a Silent Hill game in-house instead of outsourcing it to another studio. On August 2nd, Dusk Golem hinted at Konami’s Q1 financial results and pointed out their statement regarding this matter.
In the future, we plan to create fresh installments for the SILENT HILL franchise, offering global audiences updates via the “SILENT HILL Transmission” program. This program will deliver a mix of intriguing insights in real-time.
Konami
At dusk, the Golem fueled our anticipation: “It’s clear that the Silent Hill 2 Remake will be out in just a few months on October 7th, available for PC and PS5. We’ve also got announcements for Silent Hill Townfall and another Silent Hill title for the future. Additionally, there’s an internally developed SH game underway, and a few more surprises yet unannounced.”
Regrettably, and all too frequently in this field, we lack a reliable source to substantiate these allegations. Therefore, until we have confirmation from a trusted source, it remains uncertain.
A significant portion of the anticipation stems from the knowledge that Konami is creating a game on their own. Given that Bloober Team has been assigned to remake the controversial Silent Hill 2, and NeoBards Entertainment is in charge of everything related to Silent Hill f, it would be thrilling for fans to witness skilled Konami developers working on their own horror series.
