It seems that Konami might be developing another remake of a popular Hideo Kojima game following the launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater this year, although they haven’t officially confirmed it yet. The hint comes from newly posted job listings pointing towards Konami working on an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the action-packed mech game, Zone of the Enders.
Is Konami remaking Zone of the Enders?
On the official Konami career page (Japan), there’s been a hint about a new project they’re working on, still in its initial phases of development. In a job listing for a “Character Modeler in CG,” they’ve disclosed some details regarding their upcoming game.
Konami seeks a skilled 3D modeler for the preliminary visualization phase of creating character models with a “cel-shaded” appearance, as well as producing models for mechanical characters in the development of the new video game.

As a devoted fan, it’s quite plausible that Konami is considering bringing back the thrilling action series, Zone of the Enders, which was masterfully conceived by Hideo Kojima, the genius behind Metal Gear Solid. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a revival for this franchise – in 2018, a complete remake titled Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner Mars even included VR support.
As a gaming enthusiast, over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed Konami has been heavily invested in remakes, with a handful of original Silent Hill projects brewing in their creative pipeline. The triumph of Silent Hill 2 and the anticipated success of Metal Gear Solid Delta have set the stage for them to take another swing at Zone of the Enders. It’s not unthinkable!
Initially, Hideo Kojima intended to create a third installment in the action series as early as 2008 and began development on it in 2012. However, this project came to an end after the release of the questionable HD Collection, despite the fact that the HD remaster was significantly superior to Konami’s Silent Hill HD Collection, which was also released during that time.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but feel thrilled at the prospect of delving deeper into Kojima’s captivating sci-fi cosmos. Even though he may no longer be directly involved following his groundbreaking departure from Konami post The Phantom Pain and the cancellation of Silent Hills, his creative legacy lives on, and I eagerly await each new revelation.
