The scheduled launch date for the upcoming mystery titled “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” which is commonly referred to as “Knives Out 3,” has been officially announced.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the next installment in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out series is on its way! Titled “Wake Up Dead Man,” this will mark the third film for me, as Benoit Blanc, after bringing him to life in 2019’s Knives Out and more recently in 2022’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, with Daniel Craig once again stepping back into my shoes. Can’t wait to unravel another intriguing mystery!
When is the release date for Knives Out 3?
Knives Out 3 — Wake Up Dead Man — will be released via Netflix on December 12, 2025.

Apart from Craig, the ensemble cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery comprises Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.
Johnson expressed his enthusiasm for mystery novels, particularly appreciating their versatility, during an interview on X when the project was unveiled. He mentioned that the genre spans from the serious tones of Carr to the lighter ones of Christie, and having the opportunity to delve into this spectrum while creating Benoit Blanc films is one of the most thrilling aspects for him.

Apart from his roles in the Knives Out series, Craig has also appeared as William Lee in Luca Guadagnino’s Queer film, released in 2024. There are rumors about him being considered for a part in Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie, slated for release in 2026. Moreover, discussions are ongoing regarding his potential involvement in Damien Chazelle’s upcoming prison-themed film.
