Kishore urges Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to form panel on sexual harassment:'People in powerful positions...'

As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, I have witnessed firsthand the power dynamics that can lead to unacceptable behavior, such as sexual harassment. The recent revelations by Kishore and Pranita Subhash about the ongoing sexual harassment controversy in the Kannada film industry are a grim reminder of the pervasive issue that exists not just in showbiz but across all industries.

Please note that this article discusses the topic of sexual assault, which could potentially be distressing or triggering for certain individuals.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve been following the unfolding drama surrounding the sexual harassment scandal in our beloved Kannada film industry. Just the other day, my idol, the esteemed actor Kishore, shared his thoughts on this pressing issue. He’s made an appeal to our honorable Chief Minister, Mr. Siddaramaiah, urging him to establish a dedicated committee whose sole purpose would be to investigate these heinous cases, focusing particularly on those involving our talented female actors. Moreover, Kishore emphasized that the problem of sexual abuse isn’t exclusive to showbiz; it’s a pervasive issue in every industry out there

In a recent interaction with India Today, Kishore said, “It (Sexual exploitation) is everywhere, not only in Sandalwood or Tollywood Industries. It is in every field and not only in cinema. People in powerful positions try to exploit others. And what happened to the people who came out during the #Metoo movement? They have been sidelined. Even now, this might happen so let the government take some action against it.”

In recent times, he mentioned that there’s been a shift within the film industry, as more educated individuals are joining, and he anticipates a larger transformation in cinema. Additionally, Kishore suggested a fundamental change. To address concerns in the Kannada film industry, the Film Industry for Rights and Equality association has requested the government to establish a committee led by a retired judge, who will examine the current state of affairs within the Kannada film industry

Besides Kishore, well-known actress Pranita Subhash publicly shared her opinions about the current Hema Committee Report controversy in a conversation with India Today as well

She emphasized that establishing a committee is crucial for maintaining the confidentiality of the victims, all while ensuring they receive justice. Furthermore, the actress expressed her wholehearted backing and commended the entire industry for uniting in support of this cause
