Warhorse Studios revealed this week that they’re introducing a challenging gameplay mode called “hardcore” for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, set to release next week. They shared this exciting news on Twitter along with an image showcasing ten potential advantages the main character, Henry, may acquire.

In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, various characteristics like Picky Eater may not yet show their full impact, but they carry negative associations and could potentially cause issues for the character, Henry. For instance, being a Picky Eater might result in Henry refusing certain types of food, making it challenging for players to keep his energy levels up.
Similar to the initial game, navigational aids are significantly restricted in Hardcore mode. For instance, Henry no longer has his compass, and his location on the map is no longer visible. Instead, players must resort to traditional methods of traveling, such as observing their surroundings carefully to find their way around.
One developer mentioned incorporating an authentic star chart from early summer 1403 within the game, making navigation easier for the players.
As per the game’s schedule, we can anticipate three paid expansions starting from Summer 2025. The first one, titled “Brushes With Death,” will feature Henry embarking on an exciting journey with a secretive artist in the summer. Later in Autumn 2025, we have “Legacy of the Forge” expansion where Henry delves into his adoptive father’s legacy, restores the Kuttenberg forge, and hones his skills as a master blacksmith. The game’s storyline culminates in Winter 2025 with “Mysteria Ecclesia,” during which Henry investigates the Sedletz Monastery and embarks on a clandestine mission to curb the spread of a lethal disease.
