King of the Hill First Look Image Shows Older Characters in Revival

Hulu has publicly revealed a sneak peek at their planned revival for the classic show, “King of the Hill.” They’ve also given us a glimpse of how the original characters have changed as they’ve grown older in this reboot.

In the initial scene of the latest installment, we find Hank, Bill, Dale, and Boomhauer gathered outside Hank’s residence, a sight that has become familiar over the years. However, these friends have seen the passage of time, their appearance reflecting the march of age. Yet, there are hints that they are adapting to the future, lending an intriguing twist to this classic setup.

Bill carries a bag that appears to contain food ordered from a delivery service, while Dale is spotted inhaling from an e-cigarette and donning a virtual reality gadget, and Boomhauer seems engrossed in a tablet. (This maintains the original meaning but uses more casual language to make it easier to read.)

What do we know about the King of the Hill revival?

As of now, an exact launch date for the comeback of the show on Hulu hasn’t been announced, but they hinted that it’s going to arrive “soon.” It appears that the storyline will focus on the exploits of the team several years after the original series concluded.

At this moment, it remains undetermined how the series plans to handle various characters like Luanne (previously voiced by Brittany Murphy), Lucky (voiced by Tom Petty), and Dale (previously voiced by Johnny Hardwick), given that their original voice actors have unfortunately passed away.

In a new development, the revival of the beloved series “King of the Hill” will once more be overseen by the dynamic duo of Daniels and Judge, with the latter reprising his iconic voice role as Hank Hill. The production is jointly handled by 20th Television Animation and Bandera Entertainment.

As a passionate fan, I’m thrilled to share that not only is this project being executive produced by Dustin Davis, but it also retains the original producers, Michael Rottenberg and Howard Klein from 3 Arts Entertainment. Interestingly, Hulu has shown a fondness for animated Fox revivals in the past, as they previously greenlit the upcoming reboot of Futurama. I can hardly wait to see what magic they’ll bring to this new venture!
