As a seasoned fan of noir-style thrillers and a connoisseur of Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s acting prowess, I can hardly contain my excitement for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming release, Killer Heat! Having grown up watching the classic films of this genre, I’ve always yearned for modern interpretations that capture the essence of mystery and intrigue while keeping me on the edge of my seat.
Amazon Prime Video has released the first trailer for Killer Heat.
“Killer Heat is an upcoming neo-noir thriller featuring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, among others. Adapted from Jo Nesbø’s short story titled ‘The Jealousy Man,’ the movie will be streamable on Amazon Prime Video later this month.

What happens in the Killer Heat trailer?
In the trailer for Killer Heat, Gordon-Levitt (known for his roles in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F and Greedy People) portrays a private investigator named Nick Bali. He is hired to examine the mysterious death of Woodley’s character’s brother-in-law. However, as Nick begins to investigate potential suspects, he encounters nothing but resistance and icy treatment from those around him.
In a modern, gripping whodunit reminiscent of classic noir stories, the film Killer Heat stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Nick Bali, an American living in Greece who takes on the case of Leo Vardakis’ death, a young shipping magnate, supposedly accidental but disputed by his sister-in-law. As private eye Nick delves into the investigation, he encounters shadows instead of sunlight in the glamorous Mediterranean backdrop where the wealthy and influential Vardakis family reign supreme, breeding suspicion among the jealous and powerful. But who killed Leo, and why? The answers are hidden beneath layers of deceit, greed, and dark secrets that Nick must uncover to solve the mystery.
The film is helmed by Philippe Lacôte, a director known for African Metropolis (2013), Run (2014), and Night of the Kings (2020). Brad Weston takes on the role of producer, while Tom Karnowski, Nesbø, Niclas Salomonsson, and Collin Creighton function as executive producers.
In addition to the main actors, we have Babou Ceesay (from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Clare Holman (known for Inspector Lewis), and Abbey Lee (recognized in Horizon: An American Saga) joining the film.
Killer Heat will be released on Amazon Prime Video on September 26, 2024.
