Actresses Kiernan Shipka and Mckenna Grace, well-known from “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” are joining forces for the upcoming survival thriller titled “The Nowhere Game.
The Nowhere Game is being produced by Erik Feig’s Picturestart. David Charbonier and Justin Douglas Powell are set to co-direct this project, based on a script written by Alex Pototsky. Further details about the production, such as the start date, have not been revealed yet.
What is The Nowhere Game about?
In the upcoming movie “The Nowhere Game”, Shipka takes on the role of Allie, while Grace embodies Carin. The plot revolves around these two characters who find themselves unknowingly thrust into a survival game within a secluded forest, where they must battle for their existence under the gaze of an online audience.
According to Deadline’s summary, the movie focuses on a road trip that unexpectedly becomes dangerous when two young women are abducted by a ruthless psychopath and forced into a grueling survival scenario. With just a brief advantage, Carin and Allie will find themselves stranded in the woods with minimal resources, all while being pursued by their captor who is broadcasting the hunt to an audience watching in grim intrigue.
In the wilderness, with no signs of civilization or means of communication, these women rely on their intelligence and each other to avoid capture. Traversing treacherous terrain, they come across unsettling hints left by past participants, which depict a chilling portrayal of the challenges they are up against. As the predator draws nearer, it becomes clear that not only is survival unlikely, but almost impossible. Carin and Allie must confront their fear and transition from being prey to becoming hunters themselves in order to bring this twisted competition to its brutal end.
In their upcoming venture, The Nowhere Game, Shipka and Grace won’t be working together for the first time. They have previously shared screen space as both were part of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, where Grace portrayed the young version of Sabrina Spellman in flashback sequences.
Throughout her career, Shipka has consistently taken on roles in horror and thriller films such as Carriers, The Blackcoat’s Daughter, The Silence, Totally Killer, and Longlegs – a horror hit directed by Osgood Perkins. Her latest film ventures include Twisters, The Last Showgirl, Red One, and Sweethearts.
Currently, Grace, the latest addition to the Scream 7 cast, is no less familiar with the horror-thriller genre. Previously, she shone in films like The Bad Seed, Annabelle Comes Home, and The Haunting of Hill House. Furthermore, she made a mark on television with her role in The Handmaid’s Tale, earning herself a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
