Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is preparing for the launch of his upcoming film, Sarzameen, set to debut on JioHotstar on July 25, 2025. Currently, he’s immersed in work on his next Malayalam production, Khalifa, under the direction of Vysakh.

Prithviraj Sukumaran announced via his Instagram account that he’ll be working on his upcoming Malayalam film titled Khalifa. In a post he shared, there was a picture of a clapboard with him writing, “Get ready to meet Aamir Ali soon!
On July 16th, 2025, Prithviraj Sukumaran’s official team, Poffactio, announced that the initial production phase would begin on August 6th, 2025, with filming taking place in London.

The movie “Khalifa” is known for being in Malayalam and categorized as a thriller focused on revenge. This film, initially announced in 2022, is set against the criminal underworld of a gold mafia. Previously, it was anticipated that much of the shooting would occur in the United Arab Emirates.
In my expertise, it appears that the production team is venturing towards London for the filming of this upcoming project. Remarkably, this film, under the direction of the acclaimed Vysakh known for his work in Turbo, will be his second collaboration with the talented Prithvi, following their successful commercial venture Pokkiriraja.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that the screenplay was written by Jinu Abraham, a writer who has previously contributed to films starring Prithviraj such as Kaduva and Adam Joan. Furthermore, the music for this movie is being composed by Jakes Bejoy.
Prithviraj Sukumaran’s work front
Previously, Prithviraj Sukumaran appeared in a significant role for the movie titled L2: Empuraan, alongside Mohanlal. This film, which Prithviraj also directed, served as a sequel to Lucifer (2019) and was the second part of a two-film series that was planned in advance.
In the upcoming film Sarzameen, the star of Aadujeevitham will take on the main role, sharing screen time with Kajol and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Additionally, audiences can look forward to his next Malayalam release, which is tentatively titled Vilayath Buddha.
The upcoming movie, which shares its title with a novel, is expected to be a suspenseful drama. Starring Prithviraj, it boasts an impressive lineup of actors such as Shammi Thilakan, Priyamvada Krishnan, Anu Mohan, Rajashree, and several others in significant parts. Although filming has been completed, the exact date for its release remains undecided at this point.
