As a gamer with a deep appreciation for the world of professional wrestling and its rich history, I find myself eagerly anticipating the upcoming triple threat match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event between Finn Balor, Damian Priest, and Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship. Having followed the careers of both Kevin Owens and Finn Balor since their early days in the WWE, it’s heartening to see the bond they share and the mutual respect they have for each other.
Kevin Owens has revealed that he is backing Finn Balor for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. This weekend, Balor will face Damian Priest and Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
On WWE RAW, Adam Pearce confirmed the official match status. Initially, it was planned to have a bout between Balor and Gunther; however, Damian Priest, who had previously clashed with both Balor and The Judgment Day following Balor’s interference in Priest’s title match against Gunther at WWE Survivor Series: WarGames, was included in the match.
For the first time since Survivor Series: WarGames, the priest was seen, focusing on Balor and The Judgment Day. The turmoil didn’t end there, as Gunther attacked the priest, which eventually resulted in the declaration of a three-way battle.
Before his much-awaited WWE Undisputed Championship battle with Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens stated that he hopes Finn Balor will emerge victorious in this weekend’s World Heavyweight Championship fight.
Kevin Owens reveals why he’s rooting for Finn Balor
To Sports Illustrated, Kevin Owens opens up about why he’s cheering for Finn Balor. He explains that his preferred outcome for the match is for Balor to claim the World Heavyweight title. He emphasizes their lasting friendship, mentioning they both joined WWE around the same time and have since become quite close.
He stated, “[We’ve gotten] very close. I really do consider him like a brother. I would just love to share that with him.” Owens also talked about why he wants Balor to become a champion more than himself. He pointed out that Balor has faced setbacks, particularly after winning the Universal Title but never getting the chance to fully prove himself with it.
2016 at WWE SummerSlam, I was ecstatic when Finn Balor claimed the historic Universal Championship. But, just the next day, tragedy struck as he sustained a shoulder injury that forced him to relinquish the title. As a result, a new champion emerged – none other than Kevin Owens – who seized the opportunity and clinched the title following Balor’s unfortunate setback.

Ever since that time, neither of those stars hasn’t managed to claim a significant championship. This coming Saturday during Saturday Night’s Main Event, these two titans will face off in a high-stakes title bout, leaving me on the edge of my seat, eagerly waiting to see if they can finally add a major title to their impressive resumes.
