Kevin Feige on When Fans Can Expect To See Miles Morales’ Spider-Man in MCU

Recently, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared some insights about the likelihood of audiences encountering the Spider-Man character, Miles Morales, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). During a recent conversation, he offered a tentative timeline and hinted at potential plans to integrate Morales’ Spider-Man into the MCU.

Kevin Feige confirms Miles Morales’ MCU debut won’t happen until 2027

As a die-hard Marvel fan, I recently got the chance to chat with Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios’ headquarters in Burbank, California. During our conversation, he shared some exciting news about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). At this point in time, they aren’t actively developing a live-action project featuring Miles Morales. But who knows what the future holds for Spider-Verse!

As a devoted fan, I’m excited about the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut of Morales’ Spider-Man. However, when asked directly about it, Feige was straightforward: “That’s not happening right now.” The reason? The film rights for Miles Morales are currently held by Sony Pictures. As Feige explained, “Sony is thriving with their amazing Spider-Verse animated series, and until that concludes, they’ve asked us to steer clear.” (Sources: The Hollywood Reporter)

Currently, it’s anticipated that “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” will premiere in theaters on June 25, 2027. Given this timeline, as Kevin Feige mentioned, we won’t see Miles Morales‘ Spider-Man appear in any Marvel Cinematic Universe film or television series before 2027 at the latest.

Although it’s unclear if Miles Morales will appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) live-action projects moving forward, hints about the character have been subtly dropped in previous movies. For instance, in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, Donald Glover’s character, Aaron Davis (Prowler), mentioned having a nephew residing in Queens – a potential reference to Miles Morales. Similarly, 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home suggested the existence of a Black Spider-Man when Jamie Foxx’s Electro remarked that there might be one somewhere.

It appears the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be ready for Miles Morales’ introduction, but Kevin Feige’s comments indicate that we may need to wait several years before we actually see him in action.
