He also mentioned that the delay in releasing Horizon Chapter 2 was due to the studio’s decision.

Initially, it was scheduled for release on August 16, 2024, but due to the poor performance of the first movie at the box office, studios decided against a cinematic launch for the second film. Surprisingly, Kevin Costner’s Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2 made a sudden appearance at the Venice Film Festival and ultimately premiered on its closing day.

Regardless of the challenges Kevin Costner encountered, he shared that things ultimately turned out well for him. Specifically, getting the chance to present Horizon Chapter 2 at Venice was his long-held ambition.

Costner explained that his plan had worked out as intended, with movies released approximately every five to six months. This schedule enabled him to attend the Venice Film Festival, an event he wouldn’t have been able to visit otherwise if the films were already released there.

The franchise is planned for a four-movie run, as reported by Variety. Costner mentioned that the final two movies are already scripted and will likely move into production soon. However, no official release dates or confirmations about Horizon Chapter 2’s sequels have been made public yet.
