Katy Perry thinks Carrie Underwood, taking over her previous role, will undoubtedly perform exceptionally well as a judge.
Perry stated to People that Underwood made her debut on the program. She believes Underwood is skilled at guiding things because of this background. The singer of “Roar” pointed out that, being a previous contestant who won the fourth season in 2005, Underwood will have a special insight when evaluating contestants.
Perry pointed out, ‘We as artists may have walked similar paths, but she has truly experienced each day.’ Therefore, I believe she’ll bring a wealth of insights to anyone open to listening.
During an interview on Good Morning America, Carrie Underwood shared her thoughts, stating that having experienced “two different perspectives,” she could offer contestants unique “insights” and a “perspective” distinct from that of the other judges.
Yet, she playfully confessed that she might encounter a “significant challenge” due to her tendency to be “extremely truthful.” Still, she shared her aspirations to provide motivation and helpful feedback instead.
In February 2024, Perry revealed her decision to leave American Idol while she was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Her main motivations included desires to explore different parts of the world and concentrate on producing fresh music. Yet, she left the possibility open for a potential comeback in the future reality singing show.
