Recently, Katie Thurston has provided an update regarding her ongoing battle against breast cancer. Originally diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in February, she was gearing up for treatment. Unfortunately, a recent development involving liver spots discovered by doctors has caused a delay in her initial plans and has sparked fresh worries about the state of her health.
What happened to Katie Thurston?
Recently, Katie Thurston disclosed a challenging news piece about her fight against cancer. Following her diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer in February, she was gearing up for treatment, but unexpected spots found on her liver led medical professionals to suspect that the illness might have escalated to stage 4.
On the 24th of March, Thurston announced via E! News on Instagram’s Boobie Broadcast channel that her biopsy appointment was set for Friday, originally intended as her treatment day. She expressed this by saying, “My biopsy is scheduled for Friday, which was supposed to be my treatment day.
The physician raised the possibility that the marks on her liver might be indicative of cancer, a discovery that could drastically alter both her medical prognosis and care approach. Additionally, she sought advice from individuals who are coping with stage 4 cancer, aiming to learn more about their daily experiences and juggling motherhood.
Thurston openly discusses her medical experience, detailing both the emotional and bodily challenges of undergoing treatment. In a clinical study, she was given an injection of Zoladex, which is intended to reduce tumor size.
She asked, “Am I overly emotional? Breathing too heavily? Am I lacking courage? I intend to stick around as much as they let me.” Alongside her current care, Thurston is also pursuing IVF treatment to safeguard her fertility for the times ahead.
Her health news was released not long after she tied the knot with comedian Jeff Arcuri during a private garden wedding on March 22nd. They revealed their union on social media, hinting at a bigger party once her treatment is over (as reported by US Weekly).
