Initially premiering in cinemas on August 23, 2024, the Malayalam mystery thriller Karnika received a modest reception at the box office and from viewers, even though it boasted an intriguing script and captivating plotline. However, with its upcoming OTT release, the film looks to find new life among audiences.
When and where to watch Karnika
Karnika will begin streaming on the OTT platform SimplySouth from June 6 onwards.
Conversely, it won’t be accessible to Indian viewers; instead, it can only be watched by people residing outside of the country.
On their Instagram account, the streaming service shared a poster for the movie titled “#Karnika” and announced that it will be available to stream globally (excluding India) starting from June 6th on their platform “Simply South”.

In Karnika, the narrative unfolds around a writer who experiences an enigmatic assault in the rural settlement of Payyavoor, setting the stage for the story to unfold.
Immediately following the police investigation, they managed to track down the crime’s origins to the notorious Poovarasi Mana estate, a place where the author had previously discovered some concealed mysteries in the past.
As the probe deepens, it unearths even more disturbing truths that suggest a stronger and intricate connection between the author and their ancestral home.
