As an ardent follower of Kannada cinema, I have always admired the charisma and talent of Darshan Thoogudeepa on the silver screen. However, the recent turn of events surrounding his life off-screen has left me utterly dismayed and shocked. The revelations about his alleged involvement in such heinous crimes are truly heart-wrenching and far from the image of a hero we had cherished for so long.
The jailed actor Darshan Thoogudeepa was shifted from the Parappana Agrahara Central Jail to the Bellary Jail recently. The decision to shift him was made after a video and picture of Darshan allegedly receiving VIP treatment inside the prison went viral on social media. In a recent turn of events, police found 15 mobile phones, 7 electric stoves, 5 knives, 3 mobile phone chargers, and 2 pen drives during a raid on a barrack of Bengaluru Central Prison on September 14. Not just that, cops also seized Rs 36,000 in cash, cigarettes, beedi, and a matchstick.
It’s important to note that the police raid only took place at the barracks housing Wilson Garden Naga, who is a well-known gangster. His photo became popular on social media with Darshan. However, Block 3, where Darshan was detained, was not part of the search during this operation.
According to an article I recently came across in India Today, guided by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, a squad executed searches within the prison at approximately 4:30 PM. Intriguingly, they seized two electric stoves, cash totaling Rs 11,800, two knives, and four mobile phones from the power control room. The report further reveals that hidden cellphones, chargers, electric stoves, some cash, knives, and a pen drive enclosed in plastic covers were found concealed within the bathroom pipes during these searches. As an ardent fan of unveiling the truth, I can’t help but feel a thrill at the prospect of unearthing more details about this captivating story!
Regarding Darshan Thoogudeepa, it’s important to note that he, along with Pavithra Gowda and 15 others, were taken into custody on June 11 for suspected involvement in the murder of Renuka Swamy. As various sources claim, Darshan is said to have orchestrated the killing through his associates, following allegedly offensive messages he sent to Gowda and accusations that she was damaging the Kannada actor’s marriage.
Renuka Swamy’s autopsy report left everyone stunned, as it disclosed that he suffered intense torment. His body bore numerous bruises, a missing ear, and even ruptured testicles. The police investigation uncovered that Darshan was directly implicated in the brutal physical abuse of the victim.
