Kannappa: Vishnu Manchu starrer fantasy flick postpones release from April 25, 2025, due to post-production delay

The highly anticipated movie featuring Vishnu Manchu, titled Kannappa, was originally planned to hit theaters on April 25, 2025. Unfortunately, due to some necessary adjustments during post-production, the release date has been pushed back from its original schedule.

The creators of the movie announced that they need additional time due to significant visual effects work on a crucial scene, causing a slight delay in the film’s release. Their statement read: “We require some extra weeks to fine-tune a critical scene requiring extensive VFX. As a result, the project’s launch will be slightly postponed. We deeply apologize for the wait and acknowledge the excitement surrounding this movie. Your patience and backing are invaluable — they truly matter to us. ‘Kannappa’ is our homage to Lord Shiva’s most devoted follower, and we aim to showcase it in an extraordinary manner.

Additionally, the creators haven’t specified a fresh official launch date as of now, but they promise to keep everyone informed when they do.

At the cinema, you’ll find the film titled “Kannappa” – a fantasy tale inspired by the Kannappa legend in Hindu mythology, featuring a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. The storyline explores the protagonist’s transformation from an agnostic to a devout worshiper, encountering numerous trials throughout his journey.

In the starring role is Vishnu Manchu, with supporting actors like Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Rahul Madhav, Devaraj, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Preity Mukhundhan, and a host of others taking on significant parts in the production.

Furthermore, noteworthy stars like Mohanlal, Prabhas, Kajal Aggarwal, and Akshay Kumar make special appearances in this movie (which marks Akshay’s first film in Telugu). The production boasts an impressive budget, with direction by Mukesh Kumar Singh and Mohan Babu – a seasoned actor who is also the father of Vishnu Manchu – serving as producer.

Previously, Vishnu Manchu disclosed that actors like Mohanlal, Prabhas, and Akshay Kumar graciously declined payment for their brief roles in the movie.

In the film, Stephen Devassy is responsible for the musical score, Sheldon Chau handles the cinematography, and the editing duties are taken care of by Anthony.
