On October 30, 2024, the Tamil film industry woke up to an unexpected and startling revelation: renowned film editor Nishadh Yusuf was found deceased in his Kochi apartment. Known for his creative prowess, Nishadh had recently been making headlines as the editor of Suriya’s forthcoming film, Kanguva. The authorities discovered Nishadh’s body at 2 AM on a Wednesday, and an investigation is currently being conducted to determine the cause of death.

In light of recent tragic news, Nishadh Yusuf’s final Instagram post has drawn significant interest. This particular post, dated October 28, 2024, features a photograph that he took with filmmaker Siva and actor Suriya during the promotions for Kanguva.

The first announcement of Nishadh’s demise was made by the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA), through a post on their official Facebook account. Informing everyone of his untimely demise, they penned, “Famous film editor Nishadh Yusuf (43) passed away. He was found dead in a flat in Panampally Nagar, Kochi this morning. He was a native of Haripad. In 2022, he received the state award for best cinematographer for the editing of the movie Thallumala.”

Nishadh Yusuf is well-known as a top editor in India’s movie business, having edited numerous successful films such as Unda, Thallumalla, One, among others throughout his career. Most recently, his work can be seen in Suriya’s upcoming film titled Kanguva.

Apart from the current ones, he also had a number of upcoming projects lined up, such as Suriya’s film following Kanguva (Suriya 45), Mammootty’s Bazooka, and Mohanlal’s L360.

Nishadh is said to be survived by his wife, and their children, a son and a daughter.
