In the opening scene of Kottukkaali, we find Soori and his companions getting pulled over by a police officer while they’re on a motorbike. It turns out that they, together with their loved ones, are journeying to consult an exorcist, as it appears a spirit has taken hold of Soori’s sister.
As the trailer unfolds, you can see Anna Ben deep in thought inside a rickshaw. Subsequently, a storm of tumultuous happenings ensues as they strive to free her from an exorcism, causing chaos and upheaval all around them.
Drawing a parallel between Anna Ben’s character and a rooster burdened with a stone adds an intriguing layer, as it suggests they both experience feelings of confinement in similar ways.
The movie, helmed by director PS Vinothraj, will be making its debut after being showcased at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 16, 2024. Notably, this film is a production of actor Sivakarthikeyan under his personal production company.
