The movie “Thug Life,” featuring Kamal Haasan, is set to premiere on June 5, 2025, which will be his reunion with director Mani Ratnam. However, there are concerns that the film may be prohibited in Karnataka due to a controversial statement made by the actor. Here’s how he responded to this potential ban.

Love, I truly believe, always prevails. To clarify my stance, let me make it clear: my affection for Karnataka is undeniable, my love for Andhra shines brightly, my devotion to Kerala remains steadfast. Only those with ulterior motives might cast doubt upon such sincere feelings.

Besides these questions, the seasoned actor was also inquired about issuing an apology, particularly given the Karnataka government’s threat of banning Thug Life. In response, Haasan stated, “I have faced threats before. If I am in the wrong, I will apologize; if not, I won’t. That’s my approach to life, so please respect it.

During an event, he suggested that Kannada originated from Tamil and went on to say that since Kannada shares this connection with Tamil, the famous Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar is also part of Kamal Haasan’s extended family.

On the professional side of Haasan’s career, the seasoned Tamil cinema actor is gearing up for a return to the silver screen with the movie titled “Thug Life”. This action-packed thriller follows the life of Rangaraya Sakthivel Naicker, who bears a resemblance to Yakuza gangsters.

Supposed to have perished, the notorious gangster mysteriously resurfaces, harboring suspicions that his adopted son, Amaran, was involved in a plot to take his life. The movie then unfolds as a lethal confrontation between parent and offspring, ultimately revealing who will come out victorious from this deadly duel.

In this film, Haasan and Silambarasan TR share the lead roles, while prominent figures like Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, and Joju George take on crucial roles, joined by several others.

Afterward, the actor will likely appear under the guidance of directors AnbArivu, the action choreographers, in the upcoming film provisionally known as KH237.
